Re: Mr *****ing Moon
i) its overlyloud - It has to be loud as it is an important announcement that needs to be heard by all Stewards in all parts of the ground above what could be 30k+ people cheering and shouting. If the noise bothers you i'd suggest turning your hearing aid down a little you silly old fool.

ii) clearly unecessary ( and yes mrpolite knob ive been going to games home and away for 35 + years now, and Ive never heard it as loud and oft- repeated as at west ham). Just because you haven't heard it, it doesn't mean that other stadiums have the same or similar procedures - it is 100% fact that they do.

iii) it clearly distracted the players - No it didn't you spaz.

iv) if it was about the securicor vans it would be at every match - It isn't anything to do with Securicor, only an idiot would think this.

v) apart from that, its a great addition to my matchday experience, no, really, it is. - You're right, it would be much better for when an evacuation is required that it takes the stewards by surprise.

To be fair I did see Payet look up and start looking for Mr Moon which then led to him being tackled.

Re: Mr *****ing Moon
1) People don't always feel a vibrating phone. - It is an important message that needs to be heard by all stewards as quickly as possible.

2) not all people will heard their phone in a noisy football stadium - it is an important message that needs to be heard by all stewards as quickly as possible.

3) Stewards are usually encouraged not to have phones on them as they as a distraction.

4) The announcement is a recorded message, it is not some bloke with a microphone or indeed someone who is going to pick up the phone and call the Stewards.

5) it is a rare occurrence and every ground/venue has a similar procedure with code words for Fire/Suspect packages or other incidents. Why are people getting their kickers in a twist that we do too?

Re: Mr *****ing Moon
Do they all own mobile phones then?

Dapablo 12:07 Tue Nov 10
Re: Mr *****ing Moon
Sorry of course no-one can briefly look at their phone when it vibrates in their pocket, far to complicated for the poor little dears.

Re: Mr *****ing Moon
They all have earpieces, no need to use phones

Mr Polite 11:02 Tue Nov 10
Re: Mr *****ing Moon
It's a recorded message - it isn't some bloke repeating it into the microphone 4 times.

Johnson 10:47 Tue Nov 10
Re: Mr *****ing Moon
Mobiles? For the hundreds of stewards about the place who are supposed to be keeping an eye on the crowd and not their phone?

Idiot.

Dapablo 10:44 Tue Nov 10
Re: Mr *****ing Moon
The announcer has no regard for the state of play on the pitch and should really be classed as an external influence on play. It's to loud and unnecesary, use your bloody mobiles it's not 1950!
